Making public support go further in neighbourhoods and social housing
Public schemes exist to support energy efficiency works in neighbourhoods and social housing. They open and close over time, each with its own budget, deadlines and criteria. Whichever scheme is running, how the money is spread across measures makes all the difference — and blown-in insulation treats the walls for around half the cost of Capoto, freeing budget for further work.

Capoto vs. blown-in: what changes in the budget
With Capoto (ETICS), installation typically costs between €70 and €90/m². With blown-in insulation, it is around €25 to €35/m² — roughly half. For the same façade area, that difference frees up budget to insulate the attic as well, replace windows or add shading, instead of spending everything on a single measure.
A smarter allocation, in practice
The figures below are indicative construction costs (EnergyEase prices, confirmed after inspection), not support amounts. They simply illustrate the effect of the technique you choose. For a 100 m² façade:
- Capoto at about €80/m² gives roughly €8,000 for the walls alone
- Blown-in insulation at about €30/m² gives roughly €3,000 for the walls
The difference of around €5,000 can go towards other eligible measures, increasing the overall energy impact of the project.
Why blown-in is often the smarter first step
- Fast to install — up to around 150 m²/day per machine
- Drilled from inside or outside, depending on access
- Works with mineral wool, cork or cellulose
- Minimal disruption — no major scaffolding or demolition
- Keeps the façade as it is — ideal for occupied or protected buildings
For solid walls with no cavity, Capoto ETICS is the appropriate solution. In apartment buildings, blown-in has the added advantage of leaving the shared façade untouched.
