Support for Thermal Insulation in Portugal — How It Works
Public support schemes for energy efficiency do exist in Portugal, but they are not permanently open: each programme has a limited budget and its own application windows, which open and close during the year. Rather than list figures that quickly go out of date, this page explains how these schemes work and what you need to have ready. What an application usually requires
Rules vary between programmes, but in practice they nearly always ask for the same set of documents:

Why the technique you choose decides how much you can insulate
Whether or not support is available, the budget is finite — and the technique you choose determines how much of the house you can insulate with it.
- Blown-in / injected insulation: €25-35/m² (mineral wool, cellulose or cork)
- Capoto / ETICS: €70-90/m²
On a 100 m² façade, that is roughly €2,500-3,500 with blown-in insulation against €7,000-9,000 with Capoto. The difference can pay for insulating the attic or roof as well.
