In an attic you do not use, we thermally insulate the floor: €25–45/m², VAT included, in 1 to 2 days. If the attic is storage or a room of the house, we insulate the roof from inside, finished and painted: €100–160/m².

How you use the attic, or loft space, decides where the insulation goes. Pick the case that looks like yours and see how we do it.
How to recognise it: There is a hatch or a door and you can walk in the attic, but you do not use it as a room. We insulate the attic floor, above the ceiling of the house.
Price with VAT; the median of our projects is €31/m². The blankets stay in place when someone goes up there, so they are the right choice if you still need to get into the attic.
Blankets or blown wool? →How to recognise it: There is no hatch, or the space is too low to work in. We take off a few roof tiles, blow the wool in through the opening and put the tiles back.
Price with VAT. It costs a little more than blankets, because working from the roof takes more care and sometimes scaffolding. The wool reaches the corners and fills around beams and pipes, with no joints.

What moves the price
Travel and set-up cost almost the same on 40 or 150 m². In a small attic the m² costs more.
With a hatch, we work from inside. Without access, we go in through the roof, sometimes with scaffolding: it costs a little more.
An irregular attic needs more cutting. Boards, pipes, cables or a water tank: at the visit we see what we need to work around.
The thicker the layer, the better it insulates and the more material it takes. With blown wool we usually do at least 20 cm.
Attic in use
When the attic is storage or a room, the insulation goes under the tiles and roof beams. We fit a waterproof membrane that keeps the insulation dry, the insulation (XPS, PIR, mineral wool or cork), a metal frame and moisture-resistant plasterboard, which is painted. It takes 1 to 3 weeks.
The materials
On the floor we use mineral wool blankets or blown mineral wool, which is non-combustible. We also blow cellulose with a fire-retardant treatment. For the roof from inside we use XPS, PIR, mineral wool or cork, depending on the space and the budget.
